  • Carry1st, a mobile publishing platform, has secured $6m in Series A funding round, led by Konvoy Ventures with participation from Riot Games, Raine Ventures, AET Fund, and TTV Capital
  • Carry1st intends to use the proceeds to expand its current portfolio of games and to collaborate with new studios globally
  • Additionally, the company intends to reach the African mobile market by offering a platform for studios and developers to publish in the field

  • Carry1st wants to create a one-stop solution, which provides games, digital products, and original content. Additionally, the startup is developing marketing and payment services.
  • The startup’s target market, according to the CEO, is “all of Africa”
  • Carry1st began operations in Nigeria in March 2018 with the launch of its first game Carry1st Trivia. Later, the game was released in South Africa and Kenya
  • Other games of the company include online soccer PvP game All-Star Soccer and Gebeta, an online game based on traditional African board game Mancala
  • Hyper Games, an online tournament featuring hyper-casual (or basic arcade-style) games, is another game if the company, which is currently at a soft launch stage

  • In May 2020, the company has raised $2.5m during a seed round led by Johannesburg-based venture capital firm CRE Venture Capital
  • In December 2019, Carry1st had raised approximately $2m from unnamed influential angel investors in Africa and the US
  • Since its founding in 2018, the company has raised a total of $9.5m
