Singapore-based mobile games publisher Potato Play has raised $1.75m in a seed round led by BEENEXT, with participation from Atlas Ventures and Play Ventures
The company will use the money to scale its sourcing and marketing operations, as well as expanding its technology capabilities
Last week, Play Ventures has also invested into a Cyprus-based mobile game developer Colossi Games

Potato Play is a data-driven mobile game publisher that aims to bring hybrid-casual games made by Asian developers to global markets
Publisher’s team consists of industry veterans, that worked in such companies like Microsoft, Game Studios, Digital Chocolate, King, Ubisoft, and Gameloft
Potato also has its market intelligence platform Potato Play SDK, that helps developers to track their games’ performance and enhance monetization capabilities
Potato play has published such games as Merge Quest, Merge Rush Z, Epic Match Stars, Pocket Racing: Speed and Drift and Merge Survival
The most successful title published by Potato are Merge Quest and Merge Rush Z. Merge Quest has been downloaded about 3.5 million times with a peak of about 651k downloads in July 2019
In the third quarter of 2019, the company saw a sharp decline downloads. However, in 2020 Potato started to improve its statistics, thanks in large part to the growing popularity of Merge Rush Z game
