  • Eiyuden Chronicle: Hundred Heroes, a successor of famous Japanese franchise Suikoden, has finished its crowdfunding campaign on Kickstarter, raising over $4.5m

  • Till date, this is the third most successful videogame project on Kickstarter, standing behind Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night ($5.5m) and Shenmue 3 ($6.3m), keeping Shenmue 3 a record holder for now

  • The company lasted 32 days, starting on July 27, 2020, and ending on Aug 29, 2020

  • Initially, the developers aimed to raise about $510k, but they got more than $1m in less than 24 hours and continued to attract more funding

  • The game is going to be developed by Rabbit & Bear Studios, a new Tokyo-based studio, established by the original creator of Suikoden Yoshitaka Murayama and Junko Kawama, who also was at the helm of the franchise after Murayama left Konami in 2002
